Shailendra Prasad, MD

Shailendra Prasad is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota and an investigator at the Rural Health Research Center. His field of interest is healthcare delivery in rural and indigenous areas, quality of clinical care in rural health and health information dissemination.

A graduate of Mysore Medical College in India, Dr. Prasad did his residency in family Medicine and an academic fellowship a the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He practiced as a primary care physician in rural south Mississippi and in rural and tribal areas in South India prior to joining the University of Minnesota. He remains actively involved in projects in south India.
