Wendy Opsahl, MAWendy Opsahl is the communications coordinator at the Center for Rural Health at the University of North Dakota (UND) School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Grand Forks. She promotes the activities of the Center for Rural Health though media relations, newsletter production, preparing and proof-reading reports and planning of special events such as the annual Dakota Conference on Rural and Public Health. From 2005 to 2007, Opsahl worked as the marketing and alumni relations coordinator at the UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences, where she coordinated a variety of projects, including managing North Dakota Medicine magazine, developing alumni communications, creating marketing collateral, branding initiatives, photo shoots, and coordinating exhibit displays. Prior to this, she worked as a publicist for Busch Gardens/Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, VA. She is currently a board member for the Greater Grand Forks Young Professionals Network, a member of the marketing subcommittee for UND’s 125th anniversary and volunteers her public relations services for Sun, Country, and You, an animal-assisted therapy non-profit organization. Opsahl is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in educational leadership. She received a master’s degree in communication in 2002 and a bachelor’s degree in communication and sociology in 2000, all from UND. |
