Gestur Davidson, Ph.D.Gestur Davidson, Ph.D. is a Senior Research Associate who has worked at the University of Minnesota Rural Health Research Center since 2001. He also works at the State Health Access and Data Assistance Center. Dr. Davidson has 25 years of experience conducting health services research and evaluation studies as an academician, a research economist for the State of Minnesota, and a private consultant in methodology for a large HMO. Dr. Davidson has served as an econometrician/methodologist for numerous studies. His research has focused on estimating the crowding-out of private insurance by public programs; developing and evaluating models for small-area estimation of insurance rates; and estimating the demand for subsidized public insurance. His current projects include evaluating the financial impact of Critical Access Hospital conversion on small rural hospitals and assessing the potential for implementing pay-for-performance strategies in rural hospitals. He obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota in 1977. |
